Job Summary:

This Specialist, Content Services has an integral role in communication and management of all content from distributors to the Academy theaters for all screenings. This role will also include assisting the Director of Projection and Engineering with his schedule as well as projectionist scheduling for screenings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring, tracking, managing incoming content for Academy membership and rentals.
    • Coordinate with studio distributors for content delivery
    • Coordinate with studio KDM acquisition (keys) and verification of key access schedule for screenings.
    • Verification of formatting for correct theater compatibility.
    • Download all content DCPs from Aspera to Library Management Server for projection.
    • Return of DCP’s to studios.
  • Acquiring, tracking, managing incoming content for International Film Features, Live Action Shorts, Animated Shorts, VSFX Bake-off, Sound Bake-off, Make-up and Hair Bake-off with the Member Relations, Global Outreach and Awards Administration department for voting purposes.
  • Acquiring, tracking, managing incoming content for Academy Award nominated films are received for nominations screenings.Ensuring all nominated content is delivered to Academy Film Archive for preservation.
  • Updates screening calendar in Airtable regularly with status of content, running time, DCP key details, studio contact information, and panel discussions.
  • Assists the Director of Projection Engineering with scheduling projectionists for screenings in Paycor and Airtable.
  • Organize Director of Projection Engineering’s Schedule and Reminders.
  • Monitor Resource Scheduler for added screenings, run-throughs, rehearsals, updates, and changes for Goldwyn, Dunn, Geffen, and Mann Theaters.
  • Select film scores for membership screenings; deliver to projection and QC playback.
  • Knowledge of film music and composers to select music used in the overtures preceding the membership screenings.

 

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, media studies, or related field preferred
  • Have 2+ years professional work experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Experience with Airtable and DropBox.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills with special attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high level of professionalism and flexibility.

The expected starting salary range for this role is $23.00 to $25.00 The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
