BGCSM serves 21,000 people annually including 14,000 registered members across three counties. BGCSM is seeking an experienced Club Executive Director. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, with a commitment to community development. This opportunity is created for a transformational and results driven leader that has a high business acumen and strategic mindset. Background and experience should include, but is not limited to: leadership, business and financial management, board management and engagement, and fundraising and sales

 

Leadership

  • Ensure the effective operation and delivery of programs within the Club and community

  • Maintain an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes

 

Financial Development and Revenue

  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Advisory Council to set strategy to fully engage community leaders, local business, and key stakeholders in achieving successful annual giving campaign

  • Identify, cultivate, and close formal requests with donors and funders on annual giving

  • Establish and attain goals for special events, community outreach, and grant acquisition

  • Serve as principal staff member to lead local advisory council

  • Implement and manage facility usage marketing and revenue program

 

Board Development

  • Maintain diverse advisory board that supports BGCSM goals and strategic plans. Identifies, recruits, and develops volunteers for advisory board.

  • Establish and implement a board development plan along with a purposeful volunteer orientation that ensures active participation and engagement of members

  • Develop board committees where board members and community volunteers can assist driving BGCSM mission, vision, and goals

 

Staff Development

  • Ensure that all personnel policies and procedures are adhered to within the Club

  • Develop and promote a member-focused staff culture based on relationship building and exemplary customer experience

  • Develop and maintain staff personal development and engagement plan

 

Fiscal Management

  • Develop, manage and achieve the annual operating budget for the Club

  • Implement strategies to achieve successful membership growth, tenant and rental revenue goals through outreach campaign

  • Display financial acumen and discipline through accurate budget forecasting and variance forecasting

 

Community Development

  • Serve as the key community-facing leader and connector in Club community

  • Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials. Develop collaborative partnerships with other YSOs, parents, partners, and key stakeholders

 

Child and Club Safety

  • Lead implementation of BGCSM Culture of Safety to support highest quality youth experience

  • Provide support for implementation of safety quality improvement process within Club

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of five years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, with an additional two years experience at the Club Director level, or equivalent experience

  • Thorough knowledge of recreation and youth development theory

  • Demonstrated ability to work with branch boards

  • Demonstrated ability regarding personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff

  • Ability to deal effectively with members’ discipline problems

  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management

  • Skilled at fundraising events

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Annual Salary Range: $65,000- $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
