We are looking for a PreOp CMA or PreOp LPN to join our group.

The PreOp CMA/LPN position is needed at our Wake Endoscopy Center to provide support in the delivery of quality care for the patient in a physician practice or clinic setting as directed. The Wake Endoscopy Center focuses on digestive and liver diseases and performs all routine and advanced procedures including endoscopies, colonoscopies, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasounds, as well as therapeutic infusions.

On an average day, you will:

  • Supports nursing care standards through adherence to practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations
  • Rooms and prepares patients for physicians examination, assisting with examination as directed
  • Measures and records patients vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
  • Obtains and documents nursing history from patients and/or significant others that is comprehensive of present condition and prior problems
  • Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication
  • Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, and communicating physician advice/instructions
  • Accurately relays prescription refill information to local and mail order pharmacies via phone, fax or e-prescription functions as directed by the physician/physician extender and refill protocols
  • Schedules patient procedures as requested by the physician. Facilitates authorizations and referrals for managed care patients where indicated
  • Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions
 
Position Requirements

To qualify for this job you must have:

  • Ability to use manual dexterity to perform medical treatments
  • Dependability to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner
  • Ability to follow OSHA safety guidelines and privacy policies
  • Strong computer literacy with EHR experience
  • One year of recent medical office experience with use of EHR
  • Current CMA,RMA or LPN certification from an accredited organization
  • Current BLS certification


We’d also love it if you have:

  • Experience working with patients in all age groups
  • Current ACLS certification

 

Physical requirements and work environment: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
  • Must be able to support at least 75 pounds to reposition, transfer, and ambulate patients safely
