Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Senior Design Technician to join our Civil Work Group in our Myrtle Beach office. This position offers the opportunity for you to join a well-established firm with a long history of superior service and a highly motivated team.
What you will be doing:
- Performs construction observation on all types of construction projects and supervises other technicians on projects.
- Produces complete and detailed engineering drawings.
- Performs complex and detailed engineering design computations, detailed drafting and plan production work.
- Performs project layout and preliminary design (i.e. feasibility reports, proposals).
- Actively participates in the development and coordinating the preparation of plans and specifications for routine projects.
- Prepares quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Maintains detailed records and documentation of construction activities.
What we are looking for:
- Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent OR Fifteen (15) years of related experience or seventeen (17) years of related construction experience.
- Thorough knowledge of design and construction techniques and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge in project related regulatory, funding and legal requirements.
- Knowledge of interrelationship of design/construction elements.
- Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
- Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
