Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Survey Technician to join our team in our Myrtle Beach office. As aTop Workplace, This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a great team of professionals and grow your career! This role will be approximately 90% office work and 10% field work.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Assist in the production of survey drawings
- Perform basic survey computations
- Use CAD and other survey/engineering software for basic survey drawing preparation
- Assist with survey field operations as needed with:
- Construction staking, which will include shoveling, lifting and carrying 25-50 lbs
- Operate survey instruments (robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors) to collect and process field measurements and data for engineering and surveying project
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience or coursework.
- Three years of related survey experience.
- Good interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
- Good time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced math skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Demonstrates ability to learn survey and engineering concepts.
- Working knowledge of Trimble equipment and software. (Trimble Access & Trimble Business Center)
- Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
- Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
