Description

The Program Manager will be responsible for maintaining timing schedules related to new vehicle launches, MY changes, store openings, training activities, and equipment installations at service locations, including quality gate attendance and their successful passing. This position will be responsible for the engineering change management and work with other product owners to convert engineering changes into the customer experience and successfully launch the changes in the vehicle, app, or website.

This role will manage the engagement plan with the Product Marketing, Sales and Quality teams for issue management, and the Finance Team for budgeting matters. They will act as a product owner for the Technical Service group, ensuring all tasks are identified and tracked.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Coordinates activities related to Product Quality, Connected Car, Training and Digital Service departments
  • Ability to work independently and develop vision for program execution (state and maintain critical path)
  • Solid knowledge of HW and SW development paired with E2E testing (quality gate testing)
  • Solid knowledge of cross-functional team operating, including feeling comfortable in assigning and following up on action items
  • Ability to generate weekly status reports and convey status messages in clear and concise manner by using visual KPI indicators
  • Ability to represent Service Team/Organization in regional and global meetings
  • Ability to highlight and resolve escalated/high visibility issues
  • Coordinates and executes go and see activities (when needed) at ports of entry, service locations and regional headquarters.
  • Schedules product audits at the plant and/or ports of entry (when needed).
  • Maintains engagement timeline for MY changes, including creation of education materials (for example: owner's manuals, in-vehicle brochures, and feature and function guides)
  • Provide weekly status reports
  • Maintains and publishes weekly report with predetermined KPIs
  • If necessary, runs or participates in weekly meetings with other stakeholders to report out on assigned open issues

Technical and NPI Support:

  • Acts as a single point of contact for E2E JIT and Quality Testing/Validation Events to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Serves as a backup (tier 3) support on escalated customer issues
  • Participates in Early Warning Meetings during the product launch phase
  • Conducts or participates in NPI events and product improvement programs
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study
  • PMP certification preferred
  • 5+ years of PM experience; automotive or high-tech industry is a plus
  • Experience in quality testing or engineering environment
  • Senior PM: minimum of 7+ years automotive industry experience
  • Understanding of automotive industry and IQS ratings
  • Critical thinking and 8D/RCA problem-solving skills are a plus
  • Tech savvy and willing to play with latest technology, apps and connected car features
  • Solid team player with desire to exceed given KPIs
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, and other project tracking tools
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal and external partners
  • High attention to detail with experience in a startup or fast paced environment is a plus
  • Ability to travel for business 25% of the time including international trips to Vietnam and Australia during the initial phase of the program
