Description

The Purchasing Specialist - Construction is responsible for working to procure the goods and services necessary for opening VinFast US showrooms and facilities in the United States. This position will foster mutually beneficial partnerships, negotiate contracts in the best interest of the company, participate in evaluating supplier reliability, develop new supply sources, and procure materials to support construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to construction procurement
  • Evaluates market, quality, delivery, and pricing to determine present and future bidding exercises
  • Develop and implement the procurement execution strategy and procedures in accordance with the corporate guidelines
  • Assist in planning and development of project scheduling
  • Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase order adjustments, and check enclosed requisitions
  • Identify, research, and resolve problems relating to procurement issues
  • Sources vendors that provide high quality products and services at competitive prices while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
  • Sources, negotiates, or supervises complex requests for equipment, supplies and services from contractors and subcontractors
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met or exceeded; and performance meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of supplier performance, costs, variances, invoice to PO, and any changes or troubleshooting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related business field preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in construction sourcing activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project management)
  • Professional knowledge in construction industry methods and applications, governmental laws and regulations
  • Self-motivated, reliable and follows through on commitments
  • Solutions-focused, strong work ethic, highly flexible, and adaptable to fast and ever-changing environment
  • Strong experience leading strategic sourcing projects
  • Ability and willingness to travel and/or commute for business needs required
