Position Responsibilities:
1. Teach clinical/lab/theory portions of course.
2. Distribute the course handbook to students.
3. Perform all preparation for clinical/lab/theory exercises.
4. Evaluate student progress through examinations, quizzes, worksheets, observation, skill competency and lab performance.
5. Act as liaison between the college and the student.
6. Maintain appropriate instructional lab and equipment.
7. Be available for individual student assistance as necessary.
8. Participate in curriculum revision and evaluation activities.
9. Maintain a high level of academic competency through staff development activities.
10. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing – Oscoda Campus and the Vice President of Instruction.
Position Qualifications:
1. Unencumbered RN License in the State of Michigan, with Train the Trainer certification and relevant experience in long-term care or the supervision of Certified Nursing Assistants.
2. Current CPR certification.
3. Must pass an annual 10-panel chain of custody drug screen.
4. Teaching experience in a clinical or higher education setting preferred.
5. Strong working knowledge of teaching methods preferred.
6. Computer competency in word processing and instructional software preferred.
7. Ability to follow state prescribed curriculum.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Expected Hours of Work: Part-time instructors who do not maintain office hours should include a statement within the syllabus explaining how a student can arrange for an appointment with the instructor. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: This position may be required to travel outside the local area depending on the course location. Mileage reimbursement may be available. Refer to the Part-Time Faculty Handbook.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Effort: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time; and have sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
