BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Manager of Business Development is a dynamic sales leader responsible for developing action plans for the success of the sales team, existing sponsor companies and solicits relationships with new companies interested in affiliation. The Manager will ensure that compliance, legal and regulatory requirements are met; establish and maintain current and effective policies and procedures; ensure operational processing efficiencies.

This position works closely with financial center operations, call center, and marketing departments to ensure new membership growth, onsite enrollment account openings, monitoring select employee groups (SEGs) and their employee's service levels as well as ensuring that all critical information regarding SEGs is communicated to these departments for streamlined member service. The position will also work directly with many of the largest SEGs to reinforce and deepen those relationships. Additional responsibilities include strategic planning and execution for the business development function. Budget accountabilities include department expenses for sponsorships, promotional items, travel, and meals. The incumbent should seek to motivate, educate, provide cross training, and be a catalyst to the sales team members to meet and exceed their goals. The incumbent will manage a portfolio of SEGs, working to deepen relationships and engagement with Allegacy. This position is responsible for the daily oversight of the Business Development sales team, directing their areas of focus and adherence to the Allegacy business development strategy. Additionally, this position will be responsible for working with the CMO to develop the annual Business Development strategy to be deployed to meet the organizational goals. The position must participate in and fully support Allegacys Sales and Service Culture and ensures that members needs are met by providing good internal and external service.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Call on strategic select employee groups to develop and maintain the relationships.
  • Deliver exceptional member service to every member, every time by ensuring employees deliver consistently high quality service to both internal and external member that is in alignment with our Brand Culture.
  • Collaborate with management and the retail and digital channels to develop select employee group relationships in new markets.
  • Work with other credit union divisions and subsidiaries to ensure a seamless member experience across all lines of business.
  • Lead a cross functional sales team to identify and execute on enterprise-wide strategic opportunities across all sales functions to drive business and awareness of Allegacy in designated markets.
  • Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees' performance.
  • Hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior and recognize employees who perform at a high level.
  • Meet with each employee to review previous performance, demonstration of the Allegacy behaviors, and to set goals for performance and develop plans in order to continually improve employees performance.
  • Establish business development sales and service goals and ensure that the employees meet or exceed their goals.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives. Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures.
  • Schedules, coordinates and represents Allegacy at community and select employee events.

  • Ensure understanding of the Performance Management system and company-wide objectives.
  • Maximize utilization of a CRM system for tracking, reporting, coaching team on sales and service activities

Measures the effectiveness and success of Allegacys business development activities. Effectiveness measures include, but are not limited to: new member relationships formed, additional product/service engagements referred.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
  2. At least 3 years of business development experience
  3. 3 or more years of sales leadership experience in any industry, credit union/financial services environment or equivalent combination of education, experience, and sales leadership experience.
