The Positions

The Youth & Family Behavioral Health (YFBH) Program is growing! FSA has just been awarded a five-year grant focused on mental health needs of children/youth impacted by trauma and is adding full-time therapists in our Lompoc and Santa Maria (Youth and Family Center)  locations Great training opportunities in Family Therapy are offered and the therapists will help to influence the delivery of services!

The Child/Youth/Family Therapists will provide therapeutic services to clients with a variety of conditions. Services are provided primarily in our offices, with the possibility of a limited number of services provided via telehealth or in a community setting. Staff may have the option of performing non-clinical functions (e.g. documentation) remotely. Working hours will generally be Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, but some evenings may be necessary, depending on client needs.


FSA strives to be a trauma-informed and resilience-oriented organization. Because working with those impacted by trauma can affect staff in various ways, FSA actively identifies and employs methods to support staff to embody a healthy and sustainable balance of care for both themselves and others.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and/or family therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities and other promising practices known to be effective with populations served.
  • Conduct clinical assessments evaluating the current status of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health and considering relevant cultural issues and concerns.
  • Compose treatment plans informed by clinical assessments.
  • Document all clinical and service activities promptly after providing service.
  • Engage in case management activities.
  • Foster positive interagency relationships and provide referrals for any indicated outside resources.
  • Maintain all cases according to industry standards, including the appropriateness of service and quality of care.
  • Pre-licensed staff must meet weekly for group supervision. Additional supervision may be offered as determined by the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Licensed staff must meet at least once a month for Clinical Consultation.
  • Maintain licensure/registration status and adhere to all legal and ethical standards of practice as established by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.
 
Position Requirements

Employment Requirements:

 

  • Must be one of the following: AMFT, ASW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or graduate student trainee
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal, analytical, computer, written, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Professional attitude, enjoys teamwork, and ability to maintain confidentiality a must.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experienced preferred.
  • Valid CA driver license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation required.

 

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

  • FSA is offering one full-time (40 hours/week) position in Santa Maria  and one full-time (40 hours/week)  position in  Lompoc.
  • Positions working 30+ hours/week are offered full benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave also offered.
  • Pay range for applicants $27-$34/hour, depending on trainee/associate/licensure status.
