Description

Permian Resources Corp (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Corporate Development Finance Associate to join its dedicated Corporate Development team focused on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures & other strategic transactions. Permian Resources is the largest pure-play E&P company in the Delaware Basin, with a track record as one of the most active transactional teams in North America. The team reports directly to Co-CEO’s Will Hickey & James Walter, and as such the role has regular access and visibility to both the Co-CEO’s & senior management. PR’s Corporate Development team prides itself on its ability to thoroughly review all relevant transactions and find a strategic “edge” that drives value for PR stakeholders.

As an integral part of the Corporate Development team, the Corporate Development Finance Associate will play an important role in strategic analyses including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate strategic initiatives. The position will own all related financial modeling, such as merger models, accretion / dilution analysis, peer corporate models and other M&A and corporate strategy related models. In addition, this role will play an integral part in developing internal and external presentations, peer benchmarking and other financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a “value creation” mindset and be motivated by a desire to learn the “ins & outs” of an E&P business and associated transactions. The candidate will also have strong technical modeling and research skills with prior oil and gas experience and be able to contribute while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of detailed financial models including, A&D models, merger models, accretion / dilution analysis, regularly updated peer corporate models, benchmarking, corporate returns and other related analysis
  • Work with geology, engineering & land functions to compile frequent internal and external presentations, including deal review presentations, bid analysis materials, management & Board of Directors updates, among other presentations
  • Contribute to the strategic thought process of a deal evaluation
  • Manage & assist in evaluating both buy side and sell side data room materials
  • Assist in review of legal & commercial contracts, learning about their implications on deal risk and valuation
  • Evaluate PR’s position within the broader market through regularly updated peer modeling, benchmarking analysis and review of equity and debt valuation, trading performance and overall positioning
  • Participate in other strategic projects and ad-hoc financial analysis, as needed
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • BS in Finance or a related discipline from an accredited University or College, required
  • 4+ years of experience, preferred
  • Experience in finance or banking (focused on the oil and gas sector) or at an oil and gas company, or a combination of the two
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining financial models, with a focus on E&P corporate and valuation models
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of Factset or Bloomberg preferred
