Job Summary

  1. Works with staff to resolve network and other technology issues. Is responsible for supporting staff by addressing and resolving IT inquiries, problems, and requests.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Technology General:
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service while preforming agency technology duties.
  • A point of contact to support the IT work request process.
  • Helps with the distribution of keys, creation of staff ID cards and assigning network access.

  • Software duties: assist the Technology Coordinator to:
  • Support agency software databases; Apricot, Great Plains, Donor Perfect, Medisoft, and other agency utilized software systems.
  • Work with vendors to assist programs in developing reports as needed.
  • Respond to staff inquiries regarding usage of various program software.
  • Test software applications and systems.
  • Construct, deploy, and maintain general computer application software or specialized utility programs.
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades.

  • Hardware/Security duties: assist the Technology Coordinator to:
  • Maintain agency computer inventory, and all other technology equipment.
  • Set-up and maintain employee, intern and volunteer work stations.
  • Provide campus technical security, bank security, video and building access systems including the employee badge activation and key assignments.
  • Maintain comprehensive record keeping of security requests.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Network (LAN), and other systems.
  • Administer Office 365; information storage systems and software, Microsoft server/network systems for the entire Agency.
  • Addition, maintenance and deletion of users in Active Directory; email, network, and security.
  • Ensure the remote backup of Agencys network data is performing and is maintained properly.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software installation, security updates and patches.

  • Other duties and Responsibilities:
    • Serves as a member of the Technology Team to coordinate the development of agency technology.
    • Attends and actively participates in meetings, conferences, in-services and other trainings deemed appropriate.
    • Assumes other duties as assigned by the Technology Coordinator.

Salary Range $18 - $20/hr.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

 

Education:

  • Associates Degree or working toward degree in a related field.

 

Experience:

  • Familiarity of networked systems and Microsoft products.
  • Prefer past experience of IT helps desk or in a technology support in a business setting.

 

Registration, licenses, certifications or special training:

  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database software. A valid Michigan Driver License, access to reliable transportation and maintain appropriate insurance.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Emotionally able to work with information that may be traumatic in nature, as well as, work with individuals or families in crisis or experiencing trauma.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Work involves talking, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal for extended periods of time.
  • Noise in the work environment is usually moderately quiet but can be very loud at times.
  • Work in an environment with various degrees of discomfort.
  • Driving as needed throughout the day.
