Description

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Reporting to the Community and Impact Manager, the Coordinator will be an essential member of the Community and Impact team. You will be responsible for building and sustaining relationships and partnerships with community members, officials, and other non-profit organizations.

You Will:

  • Assist in stewarding relationships with community members, officials, and organizations.
  • Coordinate community relations initiatives, including onsite and offsite event planning, community partnerships, outreach efforts, and more.
  • Communicate with departments across the organization about community-related projects.
  • Provide research and support evaluation efforts.
  • Maintain and update databases.
  • Create and manage project documentation including schedules, contracts, memorandums, and one-sheets.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • 1+ years’ experience supporting community relations at a museum, community organization, or as a government worker.
  • 2+ years’ experience in collaborative work.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Project management and planning skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required, including any booster vaccinations as applicable.

The pay range for this position is $21.63/hr - $24.04/hr.
