Description

The Assistant Manager, Port Operations and Quality position will provide support to all functions of the Vehicle Logistics Team with an emphasis on developing port operations policies and procedures manual and monitoring the quality process throughout the vehicle supply chain. This position will assist with negotiations with suppliers or internal customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability. This role will collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes. Additional responsibilities are to streamline 3PL communications, including invoicing, vehicle processing reports, and other analytical and administrative support.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Develop operational policies and procedures regarding port operations and other operational requirements
  • Oversee 3PL port processor daily activities. Develop, monitor, and referee the vehicle inspection process from origin plant to dealer.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of port and transportation quality initiatives
  • Prepare, monitor and report daily operational KPI’s.
  • Interdepartmental analytical and administrative support
  • Assist department with special projects and requirements and provide operational support when needed
  • Manage a diverse workload which may include changes in priorities and responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Reporting & Analytics

  • Operations: monitor operations / logistics performance metrics / reporting and assess / review performance of logistics network on a regular basis.
  • Operations: Develop reporting tools to track operational efficiencies/deficiencies
  • Data: Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and documents in support of Port Operations and report status daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly
  • Quality: Conduct audits of providers to ensure compliance with VinFast quality policies, goals, and objectives
  • Billing: Monitor vendor billing including storage, port processing, etc.
  • Claims: Analyze Claims information according to established guidelines. Work with internal and external business partners to manage the claims process
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A BS/BA degree in supply chain management/business/Industrial engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 5-7 years of work experience in supply chain related role
  • General knowledge of vehicle handling processes and procedures
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and ability to deal with business partners in a professional manner.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools –Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively
  • This is an "In House" position in Benecia, CA
