Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Ensure delivery of services to aide in the prevention of homelessness by promoting and developing awareness of the program and conducting initial eligibility prescreening of Veterans. Support the SSVF program through various functions administrative functions: maintain HMIS database, submit data uploads, and create a positive first impression for callers and visitors.

 

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct initial eligibility screening of Veterans seeking program assistance usually through phone calls or unscheduled walk-ins. Provide general information and community referrals to Veteran’s not meeting program eligibility requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS). Set up and create records for new cases. Update demographic data as necessary. Enter all service data; service received, service provider and location. Maintain confidentiality of all client data and records. Upload data to local Continuum of Care (COC) Repository according to monthly and quarterly schedule. Compile and produce scheduled and periodic reports as requested. Conduct periodic quality control checks for verification of all data entered.
  • Answer multi-line telephone system in a prompt and professional manner:
    • Route the in-coming call to the appropriate party
    • Ensure messages are complete, accurate and transmitted to appropriate person
    • Screen calls when requested
    • Be knowledgeable of programs staff and what calls are referred to which staff
    • Be knowledgeable on purpose and general operation of the SSVF program so as to be able to intelligently communicate information to visitors
    • Track all contacts made with clients
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, in everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to “Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.”

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 6 months + with a multi-line telephone system preferred, 1+ years’ experience preferred; 2-3 years in a customer service focused environment required. 1+ years’ data entry experience required. Experience with HMIS a strong plus. Experience with homeless, low income, veterans & their families a strong plus.

LICENSES: Non-Expired Driver’s License with clear record required.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice with current auto insurance. Up to 10% travel within main county.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.

 

Preferential hiring consideration given to Veterans or military spouses.
