Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Job Developer will identify and develop optimal employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The Job Developer works collaboratively with program personal and supervisors to provide a holistic approach to achieving the employment goals of Endeavors clients.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains relationships with new employers within the community to increase the potential employer network.
  • Responsible for explaining our services including job coaching and benchmark paperwork to potential employers.
  • Responsible for following up with existing employer contacts and potential new employers to determine their hiring needs.
  • Meets with targeted employers to identify employment opportunities within the community.
  • Where needed, negotiates with employers to customize job responsibilities for the client that are consistent with the client’s abilities and address unmet needs of employers.
  • Develops employment placements and opportunities for individuals on caseload in a timely manner.
  • Meets annual job placement quota.
  • Coordinates with the individual, their employer, family support, and Texas Workforce Commission - Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors as needed.
  • Prepares extensive written benchmark reports by required timelines.
  • Provide client progress updates to Texas Workforce Commission - Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and Senior Employment Services Case Manager
  • Uses excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and effective time management skills.
  • Travel from job site to job site on a daily basis depending on caseload.
  • Document phone calls, emails and time spent with individuals we serve and their families Bird’sEye CMS software system
  • Communicate with Senior Employment Services Case Manager status of job development for each person on caseload and reach out to same when met with obstacles to meet job placement goal.
  • Provide Job Coaching services as needed for clients
  • Provide/present vocational trainings as for Endeavors clients as directed by Program Manager
  • Must be able to work independently, complete tasks as assigned, and self-direct as needed to provide exception Job Supportive Services to clients and expand/develop the program.

 

EDUCATION:

Undergraduate degree in social work, social sciences, psychology, disability services, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience relevant to the position and 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

UNT WISE Job Placement Specialist Certification and Job Skills Trainer Certification are HIGHLY preferred

LICENSES: Driver’s License with clean record required.

VEHICLE: Valid driver’s license, access to an automobile, insurance, and willingness to drive to off-site locations required. Able and willing to travel around San Antonio and surrounding areas up to 75% of time.

WORK LOCATION: Must be able to work from home in a private space and/or transition to an on-site location as space and public health response allows.

OTHER:

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken language skills).
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends occasionally.

Salary/Wage 17.00 - 18.50
