JOB PURPOSE:

The Financial Analyst will provide financial oversight for the efficient billing and financial evaluation of the Emergency Services Department. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparation of financial statements according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and will ensure that Emergency Services has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee, monitor and evaluate all expenditures within the ES department. Provide on-going financial and cost evaluation, and recommendations to the Sr. Director for maximizing all resources.
  • Provide monthly financial statements, invoice tracking, budget analysis and supporting schedules for the ES department and prepare ad-hoc reports as program needs require.
  • Communicate weekly with Sr. Director on the spending status of the ES program. Develop financial models which will provide key financial information of the department. Keep supervisors informed of cost information.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep leadership abreast of the department’s financial status.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for financial monitoring reviews. Ensure all customer concerns are met, and all financial oversight and compliance issues are handled. Maintain knowledge of the regulations and requirements regulating the program.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives and current accounting standards.
  • Meet regularly with Sr. Director and Supervisors to review the monthly spending plans and reports. As well as other duties assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/candidate preferred. Training in nonprofit accounting and grant administration preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting position, multiple location accounting experience preferred; nonprofit accounting, consolidations, working with an institution subject to Uniform Guidance, and grant administration preferred.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
