Description

The Technical Training Manager is responsible for providing technical training and support to service center technicians and VinFast field staff to effectively and efficiently diagnose and repair vehicles. This position will be relied on to identify and investigate emerging issues and to provide preliminary analysis to the VinFast Platform Support group with the primary objectives of increasing responsiveness to customer inquiries and improving vehicle quality. Enhancing service technician troubleshooting and repair skills through the effective delivery and facilitation of automotive services technical training courses will be a crucial key to increasing 'Fixed Right the First Time (FRFT) job performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist technical service center and field staff with vehicle diagnosis and repairs
  • Facilitate the effective delivery of service technical and non-technical training courses to service technicians to improve vehicle repair skills and 'FRFT' job performance
  • Properly prepare the training facility, vehicles, and tools/equipment as required prior to course delivery and return the environment to its appropriate state one the training is completed
  • Administer course support logistics of conducting training in a mobile/field environment
  • Oversee class participant enrollment process and course completion records
  • Practice the continuous improvement of automotive technical and facilitation skills to ensure the delivery of quality and effectiveness of all training courses to meet or exceed VinFast standards
  • Assist in the development of the Service Technical Training courses to ensure compliance and suitability to state and federal requirements and laws
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assistance in the development of technical training curriculum, training pilot, and train-the-trainer sessions
  • Align all training to VinFast customer experience journey maps and SOPs
  • Provide technical review expertise in the development of technical service bulletins, newsletters, special tools, and service equipment as requested
  • Provide special project assistance as requested by management
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive responsible automotive experience
  • 2 years as a technical trainer
  • Planning and oversight of an automotive training program
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset; flexibility, sense of urgency, desire to build from the ground up
  • Creative problem solver, team player, collaborator with a positive attitude
  • Results-oriented, attention to both “big picture” as well as details
  • Excellent communication, management, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, important projects simultaneously and under deadline
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Highly knowledgeable on EV technology and operation, including charging infrastructure
  • Experience developing and presenting training materials
  • Bilingual a plus (French, German, Spanish, Vietnamese)
  • Works well in fast pace, ever changing environment.
