Description

The PDC manager is responsible for implementing an efficient receiving, warehouse, material handling, and conveyance solution to support the overall Service organization, while optimizing space, and improving labor productivity with our 3PL service provider. The individual will be responsible for designing and developing inventory movement and storage systems from dock to storage and from storage to staging, for improving productivity and efficiency of operations, and for managing 3PL warehouse staff. The position will also identify and resolve operational issues and support the execution and evolution of a packaging strategy for existing components, new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply chain improvement measures. This role will focus on continuous improvement of operations and will be dynamic with frequent changes in scope and scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Manage and develop in the design, testing, and implementation of short and long term system enhancements
  • Ensure on-time parts order processing for various customer requirements, with a direct focus for on-time delivery metrics and 3PL vendor performance
  • Project manage DMS, TMS and SAP systems implementation for reporting and monitoring transportation performance
  • Administer PDC operations, carrier delivery performance and service improvements in accordance with department KPIs/initiatives
  • Resolve all operational issues, including equipment availability, mis-sort, shortages, and late deliveries
  • Lead improvement initiatives with 3PL service provider
  • Supports new package development and testing
  • Develop short and long term planning strategies for cost reduction, and process improvements
  • Manage the development of shipment policies and procedures to support shipments to stores, PDCs and Port facilities based on department initiatives/objectives
  • Manage and control all PDC operational expenses in accordance with department KPIs/objectives
  • Monitor KPIs and provide direction to meet department and Company objectives
  • Support any ad-hoc requests for analysis, information, special projects, or additional tasks
  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI reports, presentations, and other executive summaries
  • Transportation carrier contract entry and maintenance in TMS system

Reporting & Analytics

    • Review PDC on-time performance reports and work with 3PL on any service improvements needed
    • Prepare and analyze monthly PDC operational cost reports for department review
    • Prepare Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Project Reporting as required to monitor and track KPIs and Project status
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ plus years of work experience in supply chain operational & packaging roles
  • Must have strong understanding of distribution center and logistics industry
  • Attention to detail and good quantitative skills are required
  • Experience with network analysis is highly desirable
  • Experience and warehouse management systems (WMS) knowledge a plus
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of management
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and management as a self-starter and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize own work and projects with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools –Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Position is "in house" in Fontana, CA
