Description

The Corporate Counsel position will develop VinFast’s legal processes, policies, and procedures on issues related to the industry and corporate governance. This role will draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements. This position will collaborate with local and global leaders, providing general legal support

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

 

  • Draft, interpret and negotiate commercial contracts, memoranda of understanding, nondisclosure agreements, and other legal documents; advise business partners on contract status, legal risks, and potential liabilities; find creative ways around obstacles

    Assist with licensing, permits, filings, projects, and work requirements needed for vehicle showrooms and service facilities

    Review advertising, publicity, and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements

    Assist with corporate governance matters; evaluate risks and offer proactive advice on business decisions and operational factors; research regulations; anticipate legal issues that could impact the company

    Develop legal processes, policies, and procedures that support business goals and objectives and result in the best use of legal and financial resources

    Collaborate with local and global legal team and with outside counsel as necessary to provide accurate and timely counsel on a variety of legal topics

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of corporate legal experience. This can include a combination of corporate and law firm positions. Automotive industry (including electric vehicle) background a plus.

    Broad knowledge/experience in the following areas: real estate/facilities development, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, privacy and data security, licensing, advertising, contract development and negotiations, and procurement transactions.

    Experience cultivating relationships with internal stakeholders, parent company legal leaders, outside counsel, and relevant external governing and regulatory agencies.

    Juris doctorate (JD) degree and California Bar membership. Applicable advanced degree(s) a plus.

    Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.

    Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.

    Executive presence, confidence, and enthusiastic attitude.

    Can-do mindset with high energy and strong work ethic.

    Creative problem solver; not afraid to think outside the box.

    Meticulous and thorough attention to detail.
