Description

The Emission Carbon Credit Lead will lead the effort to establish global operations to manage the entire lifecycle of Emission Credits. This role will have extensive knowledge of the U.S. and EU carbon markets and will provide analysis of the whole lifecycle of a carbon credit including valuation, planning, administering, trading, and support activities in accounting and tax as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Be the carbon credits technical expert and go-to person
  • Maintain, prospect, and develop a network of trading partners in carbon markets
  • Provide oversight to the whole lifecycle of a carbon credit including valuation, planning, administering, and trading
  • Generate new revenue streams and build a trading portfolio in carbon products
  • Manage demand and supply of RECs to best match the needs of trading partners with our sourcing capabilities
  • Work on project-level due diligence, carry out risk assessments and prepare proposals and the sales of carbon credits
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Finance, Environmental Studies, Energy Economics, Business, or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years’ experience in developing carbon credit projects including legal and financial aspects
  • Profitable track record on a physical trade in the renewables space including carbon-related products with a particular focus on physical trading and arbitrage opportunities
  • Experience working in international teams a plus
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Excel in modeling complex financial analyses
  • Proficiency in managerial accounting, regulatory requirements, audit, and compliance
