Description

The Homologation Analyst will be responsible for all activities related to importation, management and report out on vehicle fleets required for all activities in the US. The role will be a direct liaison with engineering, build teams, plant, logistics in Vietnam, and the teams in the US. This includes engineering suppliers to get vehicles imported and transported to and from facilities as required, providing a means to track the whereabouts of the fleet at any time.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Develop a means to take input on the needs for vehicle orders from the Vietnam & US market teams
  • Follow up with teams in Vietnam to get the vehicle orders placed and record the transactions through VIN tracking from start of build to final delivery to vehicle custodians
  • Prepare, file, track and monitor all required importation paperwork with EPA, NHTSA to meet the required vehicle availability dates in country
  • Manage delays, re-allocations and enable/facilitate removing roadblocks to maintain timelines
  • Develop, maintain, and provide access to teams for quick look up on fleet orders and/or tracking status either in Excel, SmartSheets, etc.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with government agencies through clear and objective communication in a timely manner to meet business needs
  • Direct responsibility to ensure continued compliance of the fleet and/or timely disposition (export or scrapping) of the vehicles working with the logistics teams
  • Travel as required (~10%) to meet, address & resolve issues in the processes
  • Continuous process improvement to optimize time and costs
  • Take responsibility to step-in, improvise and/or adapt to plan for contingencies to address the changing needs of the organization
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor or Associates Degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience working at an automotive OEM, supplier, or service provider and/or logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with automotive OEM processes, program timelines
  • Knowledge or understanding of US/Canada vehicle importation requirements
  • Experience in effective verbal and written communication to meet business objectives
  • Good organizational skills to work independently without direct supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience working with international teams across the globe and understanding of cultural and language nuances to effectively deal with conflicts and maintain objectivity
  • PMP certification a plus
