FULLY REMOTE role, must be in California, reporting into our LA office located in Playa Vista, CA (North of LAX).

The Enterprise Information Manager has a critical role in the organization who will lead and manage all organization wide data activities and improve the quality and protection of sensitive data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices, both at the department and business and functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Work across diverse business areas of integrated supply chain, marketing, sales, eCommerce, distribution, and corporate functions to define the enterprise data and analytics strategy and end to end customer experience.
  • Drive common set of data governance principles, processes & tools to improve data integrity, quality, governance, and availability
  • Design and implement data quality monitoring against operational data sources and data lake/warehouse utilizing data governance tools to ensure adherence to standards with continuous improvement goals
  • Support operational excellence through integration of ERP systems and enabling CRM capabilities
  • Support the documentation of requirements for data governance related projects by analyzing systems and data to support the documentation of metadata including data dictionaries and business glossaries
  • Serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department
  • Analyze and develop strategies designed to enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies
  • Coordinate with operational and reporting data stewards to create data controls, identify measurement definitions, and manage using dashboards
  • Maintain enterprise data policy for governing data and actively measures compliance to the data policy for critical data and reports
  • Maintain ongoing communication to ensure critical data issues are communicated timely for remediation
  • Enlist business unit support to take ownership and responsibility for consistent definitions and quality of their data
  • Collaborate data stewards, architecture, and information technology to prioritize and resolve data sourcing, business rules, data aggregation, data distribution, and data consumption
  • Ensure operational data stewards define and maintain data definitions, descriptions, set values, quality rules, and calculations in the business glossary
  • Document and maintain data governance roles and activities, maintain logs, and record issues and corresponding resolutions, along with producing data governance dashboards on a recurring basis
  • Educate data stewards, data owners and data custodians
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • MBA is preferred
  • 5 years in a leading data governance or data management roles
  • 3 years of experience in a business/data analyst or BI/reporting roles
  • Technical capability for system design, data governance, business strategy and tactics, and an ability to translate strategy into desired outcomes
  • Knowledge of data management best practices, processes, tools, standards, and methodologies
  • Experience with commercial solutions used for API management
  • Excellent written, visual, oral communication skills, ability to communicate with key business partners clearly and succinctly
  • Experienced building reporting/dashboards/scorecards leveraging BI/Reporting Tools (Looker, Tableau) or other data visualization software
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Salesforce MuleSoft system a plus
  • Experience in at least one major foundational language such as SQL, Python, C#.NET, Java, or JavaScript a plus
  • Understanding of mobile technology and OS (i.e., Android, iOS, Windows), VMware technology, and Unix and basic Unix commands
  • Strong critical thinking, ability to work through a problem, identify root causes, provide effective solutions while being detail and process oriented
  • Ability to work successfully in both individual and team settings in US and Global time zones
  • Experience in a start-up environment is a plus
