Description

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for working to procure the goods and services necessary for bringing VinFast US vehicles to market in the United States. This position will foster mutually beneficial partnerships, negotiate contracts in the best interest of the company, participate in evaluating supplier reliability, develop new supply sources, and procure materials to support production.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Develop request for quote (RFQ) documents in conjunction with VinFast US business department requirements for obtaining goods and services
  • Analyze and evaluate vendor quotes and proposals to determine the most desirable suppliers
  • Develop and implement the procurement execution strategy and procedures in accordance with the corporate guidelines
  • Assist in planning and development of project scheduling
  • Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase order adjustments, and check enclosed requisitions
  • Identify, research, and resolve problems relating to procurement issues
  • Analyze inventory needs based on sales trends and inventory levels
  • Place purchase orders ensuring flow of inventory that guarantees optimum stock levels and meets turnover goals
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met or exceeded; and performance meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Manage and support strategic supplier relationships, resolving any supplier issues as needed
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of supplier performance, costs, variances, invoice to PO, and any changes or troubleshooting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related business field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing with demonstrated knowledge of product and service procurement policies and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project management)
  • Working experience with SAP
  • Self-motivated, reliable and follows through on commitments
  • Solutions-focused, strong work ethic, highly flexible, and adaptable to fast and ever-changing environment
  • Strong experience leading strategic sourcing projects
  • Ability and willingness to travel and/or commute for business needs required
