In these efforts, we prepare our students as future leaders to model our credo, "Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve".   Category Faculty   Description Position Summary This position is a 3/5 FTE faculty position whose primary responsibility is the support of probationary faculty, including collaborating in the hiring, coaching, observation, and evaluation processes. It may be combined with a 2/5 FTE teaching position for a full time faculty role. Responsibilities and Duties The Director of New Faculty Development will: Model for students the characteristics of a Lasallian Vincentian educator; Support SHC’s mission, philosophy and integral student outcomes; Assist the Assistant Principal for Academics in hiring of new teachers, counselors, librarians, and academic support staff; Facilitate the onboarding and professional development of new faculty and staff: Coordinate new personnel orientation each late summer to introduce SHC’s charisms, teaching practices, and community expectations; Direct the drafting of and progress on professional goals for probationary faculty; Meet regularly with probationary teachers during the school year to facilitate mission formation, discuss upcoming events, to review instruction, evaluation, planning and/or classroom management, successes and concerns, and to respond to questions; Regularly provide coaching to new faculty, both individually and in small groups (including instructional rounds); Conduct regular both formal and informal teaching observations; Collaborate in the design and implementation of school-wide professional learning and summative evaluations at SHC; When needed, oversee the completion of single subject credentials for SHC faculty through the California Teacher Induction Program; Assume other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal.   Position Requirements Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree; Graduate degree (preferably in education, administration/supervision, or related field); Five years experience teaching or in administration at the secondary level; Proven ability to work collaboratively to plan and achieve student learning. Desired Qualifications Teaching or administrative credential; Experience in a Catholic high school setting; Experience working as an instructional coach.
