The Position

The Rental and Financial Assistance Supervisor is responsible for oversight and operation of the Rental and Financial Assistance project. Responsibilities include strong collaboration with United Way, Santa Barbara County, and cities within the county; implementation and compliance with expectations outlined by stakeholders; and work closely with the FSA Data Specialist on the completion of qualitative and quantitative reports reflecting services rendered. This work is fast paced and the Supervisor must have the ability to quickly adapt to program changes.  The Rental and Financial Assistance Supervisor will promote the Protective Factors Framework to ensure strength-based services are available to underserved, at-risk individuals, families, and seniors.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with United Way, Santa Barbara County, and cities within the county. Serve as primary liaison with United Way.
  • Oversee rental/financial assistance application processing in accordance with contractual expectations, ethical and legal standards of practice, school district policy, and FSA policy. This work is fast paced and the Supervisor must have the ability to quickly adapt to program changes.
  • Plan/conduct staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide direct service as needed, such as scheduling, assigning applications, and reviewing applications.
  • Ensure contractual expectations and program targets are met and that services provided are within scope of practice.
  • Work closely with the Data Specialist to oversee the collection of data and support documents, and ensure reports are prepared and provided as required.
  • Monitor and utilize required software to support staff, evaluate project’s effectiveness, and develop responsive assistance within the county.
  • Maintain oversight of expenditures to ensure project related costs are within the outlined budget.
 
Position Requirements

Employment Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience in staff supervision, budget operations and oversight, data tracking, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with community resources.
  • Computer and Internet literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; can adapt to using various types of software.
  • Valid automobile insurance and a valid California Driver License are required.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.

 

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

  • This position is full-time, exempt, with benefits. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave also offered.
  • Pay is dependent on experience.
