Email Opening Title Maintenance Worker - Facilities  Close Date   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Description Job Summary: The position involves performing manual and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment. Work involves performing preventive maintenance and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment. Duties are usually performed according to established procedures with little or no instructions.   Position Maintenance Worker - Facilities   Position Requirements Qualifications: Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; Two (2) years of semi-skilled experience in general maintenance work; Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses or Certifications: HVAC Certification for Refrigerants or the ability to obtain within an agreed upon timeframe. Valid Class E Driver’s License. Special Requirements: May require early morning or late evening hours. On-call shifts required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the standard tools and practices of the various trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and plastering. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the mechanical and building trades. Ability to perform skilled work in a variety of mechanical and building trades. Ability to operate, maneuver and/or provide simple but continuous adjustments on equipment, digital communications, systems, computer keyboard, calculator and materials used in performing essential functions. Ability to understand and give oral and written instructions. Ability to recognize safety and security hazards and to correct or eliminate them. Ability to read, interpret and draw sketches, penciled layouts and blueprints. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, outside contractors and occupants of the building. Ability to keep records and make periodic reports.
