Share Email Opening Title Family Therapist - Carpinteria  Category Clinical   Description The Position: Provides trauma informed and culturally appropriate individual and family therapy services to youth and families referred by the school. Will provide a range of counseling, crisis intervention and social casework to assigned caseload. Clinical supervision is provided. Working with those impacted by trauma can be fulfilling and meaningful, yet simultaneously exhausting and heart-rending. FSA strives to be a trauma-informed and resilience-oriented organization, actively identifying and employing methods to support staff to embody a healthy and sustainable balance of care for both themselves and others. Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provides individual and family therapy as well as parenting education, skills training, and relationship enhancement at the school site, home or community setting. Teaches effective communication, healthy discipline and healthy coping strategies. Empowers and provides stability and support for the family. Provides all methods of social casework services to clients as assigned. Ensures case collaboration with community agencies in linking families with needed resources appropriate to the treatment plan. Provides crisis intervention and referrals to clients on the assigned caseload. Utilizes the Perceived Collective Family Efficiency Scale, CRIES and PHQ-A assessment tools when appropriate. Maintains collaborative relationships with members of the START team, Family Support Specialist team, school site and other community-based agencies. Participates in case conferences and attends meetings in regards to assigned caseload. Supports the Mental Wellness Center and Mental Health Matters Curriculum in the classroom.   Position Requirements Employment Standards: Masters degree in social sciences required. AMFT or ASW required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with youth and families required. Must have a valid California Drivers License, valid automobile insurance, and a vehicle. Classification, Hours and Pay Rate: This position is full-time (40 hours/week), year-round, non-exempt, with benefits. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Vacation, holiday and sick leave also offered.
