The Purchasing Agent also expedites and schedules deliveries of materials and services to the job site. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Edit and refine requisitions for clarity, correctness, completeness and compliance with Quest’s requirements and guidelines Communicate with appropriate departments to clarify requests, obtain necessary information and specifications, or research and obtain appropriate supporting documentation for the purchase Ensure tax exemption status is handled correctly per purchase on a per consumer basis Negotiate best possible price and delivery of quality materials with existing or new suppliers Administer one party contracts for services Recommend product substitutes where there will be cost savings and/or improved lead time for comparable products Prepare bid packages and obtain RFQ’s from vendors Manage and maintain cost and price data per item specifications Purchase materials within budgetary numbers set by sales group and/or accounting per contract guidelines Manage vendor credit limitations Track delivery of materials and receive items against open purchase orders Verify accuracy of supplier bills when there is a discrepancy with an order Inquire and manage new vendor profiles and accounts Enter purchases into Quest Accounting system in a timely manner Work closely with Corporate Purchasing and Corporate Accounting departments Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned   WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Work Environment: Minimal exposure to elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or moderate noises Physical activity: Requires light physical work; regularly required to sit or stand, use of hands and fingers to operate a computer Regular, predictable attendance is required   Position Requirements EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years experience in purchasing in a contruction environment Experience in Oil and Gas, Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent experience required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of purchasing and sourcing for competitive pricing Strong planning, organizing, analytical skills Excellent phone and interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company in a professional manner Develop and sustain relationships with suppliers Proven ability to work independently Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of Quick Books and ERP systems Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience required   About the Organization Quest Automated Services is the service leader in on-demand and interactive machine-to-machine, SCADA-based oil field automation.
