Position Foresic Peer Specialist  
Description

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team, providing essential support to individuals living with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. This position involves working with clients to foster recovery, independence, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use your personal experiences of mental illness and recovery to build strong, trusting relationships with clients through their own recovery processes.
  • Assist clients in accessing community resources, including housing, healthcare, employment, and substance use treatment.
  • Help clients develop coping strategies, life skills, and self-advocacy techniques that promote independence and enhance their recovery process.
  • Work closely with other mental health professionals, case managers, and treatment teams ensure coordinated and comprehensive support for each client.
  • Promote recovery principles in all aspects of your work, emphasizing hope, choice, and self-determination. Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the treatment system and the community.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • Peer recovery support certification required (PRS).
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license.  Will transport clients in own vehicle.  Must have proof of current auto insurance coverage and meet driving record requirements.
