Benefits Administrator/HRIS Analyst

Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated professional Benefits Administrator/HRIS Analyst that will manage and administer benefit plans: health, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending, retirement, and disability. This position will direct open enrollment, facilitate benefits orientation, maintain records, resolve administrative problems, and serve as liaison with employees and carriers regarding benefit plans; will administer and manage FML and workers compensation.  In addition, this position will ensure optimization of the organization’s HRIS, serve as the subject matter expert, produce a variety of reports and manage/post HR-related content on WBHN’s Intranet.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Keep program materials up to date and compliant, manage plan documents, and ensure content on websites, forms, and literature are accurate.
  • Ensure optimal preservation of benefits records, effective utilization of protocols, and adherence to plan design. Maintain and process records related to benefit programs timely.
  • Educate employees, disseminate pertinent benefits information, and manage benefit enrollment and wellness initiatives.
  • Direct educational benefits workshops.
  • Ensure optimal use and functionality of the organization’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) by serving as the SME and continually seek new and effective ways of managing Human Resources data.
  • Contributes to the management of WBHN’s Intranet by managing HR-related data, organizing information, producing/posting content, providing oversight, and helping optimize utilization.
  • Administer and manage the Family and Medical Leave, LOA and COBRA programs while educating constituents and maintaining compliance.
  • Manage Workers Compensation for the organization by serving as a liaison between the organization and the workers compensation carrier, providing training to management staff, investigating incidents, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to the policies procedures.
  • Oversee and ensure proper recordkeeping and enhancement of departmental operations including processing unemployment claims, producing turnover reports, and completing special projects.
 
Position Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, industrial psychology, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • College courses in human resources, communications, and general business, preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in a professional Human Resources position, with emphasis in employee benefits administration and records management.
  • Minimum two years of experience handling benefits required.
  • Computerized database, email systems, word processing, and spreadsheet experience required.
  • Three years’ experience working with an HRIS; extensive working knowledge of Ascentis or similar system, preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of database management, including query and report generation.
  • Proficient in Excel (advanced preferred) and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably prepare and present to small groups.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills; be detail-oriented and able to effectively multi-task.
  • Critical thought and ability to analyze, interpret and apply new information.
  • Familiarity with benefits laws essential.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or CEBS, preferred but not required
