Share Email Opening Title Data Collection Manager   Description U.S. News & World Report, the leading authority in educational rankings, has an immediate opening for a Data Collection Manager in its Washington, D.C. office. This individual will be contributing to the success of the Education Rankings team and the responsibilities for this position include: Oversee the statistical and expert opinion data collections for three separate U.S. News education products: Best Colleges, Best Graduate Schools and Online Education. Data collection is done via online surveys and the data is used in both in various print and online products. Manage a small staff of Data Collectors. Work with U.S. News programmers to maintain the online survey data collection platform as well as issues that relate to quality control of each data collection. Work with the Data Analysis team to create/update new surveys as needed. Define specific project deadlines and timelines in collaboration with the Data Analysis team and regularly report on the progress of each of three data collections. Manage priorities and workflow with the Data tech team for both data collection and website launches of all U.S. News Education data products. Administer email communications with colleges, graduate schools and other survey respondents on issues that relate to data collection. Respond to internal U.S. News data inquiries relating to data collected.   Position Requirements Qualifications: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products with a strong focus on Excel. Experience working with large data sets. Knowledge of SQL is desired. Experience with Sailthru is a plus. Experience working in or knowledge of Higher Education is a plus. Strongly prefer a minimum of three years management or supervisory experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with team members and with technical personnel. Applicants must provide a cover letter and résumé.
