Share Email Opening Title OFFSHORE WELDER - GOM  Category Oil & Gas   Description OFFSHORE WELDER JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for welding repair work, flame cutting, modifications and fabrication on the drilling unit.   Position Requirements PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent 2+ years offshore related welding experience 3+ years previous experience in a Welder role on 6th generation semi submersible drilling rig Able to operate software applications as applicable to position, conversant with technical drawings and literature Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks. Offshore training required: BOSIET / HUET / FOET Rig Pass / Safe Gulf 6G Welder Certification Qualified Rigger (2 days) RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform welding, flame cutting and associated tasks as required Ensure that the permit to work and energy isolation procedures are strictly adhered to at all times including fire watch requirements Ensure an accurate oxygen and acetylene bottle count is submitted daily to offshore management Ensure al welding activities are carried out in accordance with Company policies, class requirements and regulatory laws and regulations Ensure an accurate inventory of consumables is maintained in order to facilitate all repair work, modifications and general fabrication Coordinate welding tasks with supervisor and other department heads to meet operational requirements Inspect welded joints for visible formation, weld penetration and conformance specifications Perform daily inspections and maintenance on welding equipment Ensure oxygen and acetylene bottle are stored as per company policy and procedure Perform daily inspections and maintenance on welding equipment Assist with duties other than welding as required Ensure that approved rig operating procedures are adhered to at all times. Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards to supervisor Actively participate in weekly rig and departmental safety meetings Actively participate in the Safety Management Systems Ensure housekeeping is maintained in assigned areas Effectively use all safety and environmental tools It is the objective of Puglisevich USA to ensure employment equity within the workplace.
