Sr. Shipbuilding Configuration Manager 


The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50-year history of providing the United States Military with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services, is seeking a Senior Configuration Manager. The Configuration Manager will be an analyst experienced in tracking, analyzing and coordinating ship design Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Proposed Change Work (PCW) as part of the configuration management process.


Responsible for configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management. Individual shall also work closely with the Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle. Individual shall provide change management and product configuration management guidance.

Provide support to new build ship program office in the execution of program and project configuration management and in accordance with contract requirements.

Provide shipboard systems configuration management, to include acquisition, operation, maintenance, and lifecycle sustainment.

Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

15 years of experience with US Navy ships and shipboard systems in configuration management, acquisition, operation, maintenance, lifecycle sustainment

Experience in design, construction, and fleet introduction of Naval Ships to include design changes, ship alterations and identification of how these alterations affect configuration, operations, training and life cycle sustainment

Experience evaluating and processing ship design Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Proposed Change Work (PCW) submittals

Knowledge of the DoD acquisition process, including regulations, directives, and statutes, the Navy’s application of the DoD acquisition process.

Must be familiar with NAVSEA and industry standards and best practices for managing shipboard configuration.

Active Secret clearance

BA or BS degree preferred

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Experience with US Navy platforms, C4I, Sensor, and Electronic Warfare systems
