We are seeking a few Mid-Level Structural Engineers to join our team in either Washington, DC or Marinette, WI. The ideal candidates will:

  • Design scantlings and other ship structures for US Navy, Military Sealift Command, USCG, and commercial ships.
  • Design foundations for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Projects include new ship designs and modernizations to existing ships.
  • Work includes ship inspections for modernization of existing systems.
  • Perform analyses and studies, and develop reports, drawings, and specifications to reflect design results.
  • This position will require a one-time 30 day training in Marinette, WI at the time of hire.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • At least 5-9 years of experience in marine structures design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations required.
  • Knowledge of marine structure materials and welds.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and techniques to complex situations and non-routine tasks.
  • Ability to interact and present technical information verbally and in writing (reports, specifications, drawings, etc.) to internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in FEMAP/NASTRAN.

This position is contingent upon and subject to the award of the contract from the government. You will be hired on a contingency basis.
