Share Email Opening Title 190 Gift Shop Manager  Location Northern Lights Casino & Hotel   Description POSITION SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for planning, organizes, coordinates, control information/data required, monitor and analyze cost to efficiently run the department, maintains all department personnel, procedures and equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES: Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions. Assists to ensure effective and efficient daily operations. Supervises, plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Gift Shop. Responsible for accurate handling of all monies while cashiering. Responsible for maintaining cigarette and stock inventory. Assists guest/employees with daily issues or questions. Completes all paperwork required and keep accurate log of transactions. Assists in keeping informed and informing staff of any current Casino promotions involving Casino and Gift Shop. Maintains department schedules with accurate record keeping in all aspects. Expected to perform a full range of supervisory responsibility, maintain proper attendance in accordance with Casino policies, and recognize that they are a representative of the Casino and responsible for demonstration courtesy respect and sensitivity to the needs of every person, Guest and co-worker. Assists with the implementation of approval Policies & Procedures, controls and directives to affect deficiencies for attainment of Casino's objectives and goals while safeguarding all assets relative to the gaming operation. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Is sensitive to Native American Culture. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Performs other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Supervisory experience. Ability to use point of sale system. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent time management, public relations and communications skills. Knowledgeable in computers, key calculator and credit card verifier. Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically capable of remaining on feet for long periods of time. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment. EDUCATION AND SKILLS Education Required: Associate’s degree Experience: Two or more years’ related experience A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for education.
