Horizon Healthcare, Inc.s American Telehealthcare program is now hiring for two regular (Monday-Friday) Tele-Behavioral Health Extenders for our new beloit clinic.

Qualified candidates must be available for 1-2 week training period (1st shift and or 2nd Shift), Monday thru Friday, flexible times at either of programs Milwaukee locations (hotel will be provided) and in the Beloit clinic.

Program Information

American Telehealthcare is a program under Horizon Healthcare, Inc. which provides outpatient psychiatric services over the Internet via a cutting-edge integrated e-psychiatry platform, AT E-PsychSM. Services include mental health assessments, psychotherapy, and medication management. The platform integrates and synchronizes in real time high definition video-conferencing, electronic medical records, scheduling, electronic prescription of controlled substances, and billing. Telehealthcare eliminates geographical boundaries, and enables providers and patients to connect efficiently, effectively, and affordably. Horizons state-of-the-art proprietary platform enables patients access to their physicians, such as psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurse practitioners, social workers, and other mental health counselors, anytime, anywhere. Services are provided on a scheduled, walk-in, or urgent care basis.*American Telehealthcare does not provide emergency services. 911 should be called in all emergency cases.

The programs infrastructure is electronic and cloud-based, including video conferencing, scheduling, electronic medical records, and payment for services. Patients connect from their originating site to providers located at a distant site. The originating and distant sites can be any location that is quiet and confidential, including: patients homes or workplace, providers offices, medical clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, half-way houses, correctional facilities, social service agencies, and/or attorneys offices.

At Horizon, we recognize Telehealthcare is the wave of the future, and we are looking for tech-savvy individuals to join our team! Qualified candidates must be comfortable with basic computer functions, as well as have a flexible schedule to allow for and match providers varying client schedules. Additional hours are available to those willing to travel between Horizons various American Telehealthcare locations as needed.

Resposibilities:

  • Provide customer service to patients in a timely and professional manner
  • Receptionist/front desk duties including, but not limited to: filing, copying, faxing, answering and/or forwarding phone calls, as well as taking messages
  • Assist physicians and counselors with telepsychiatry set-up and related clerical and administrative duties
  • Screen new patients to collect demographic and pertinent medical information and input into the Electronic Health Record (HER) before patient is seen by provider
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on Telehealth equipment (i.e. computer, microphone, television) as needed
  • Schedule new appointments, diagnostic tests, follow-up visits, and initiate reminders as necessary
  • Complete prior authorizations, insurance verification, and collect co-pays
  • Collect and post data for billing
 
Position Requirements
 
  • High School Diploma OR GED equivalent
  • A Criminal Background Check may be required for this position subject to Wisconsin law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Word & Excel
  • Strong oral & written communication skills
  • Behavioral health or medical office experience – preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate at no cost.
  • One (1) year experience providing customer service or patient care in a correctional or medical setting OR
  • One (1) year higher education in a Human Services-related field
  • Ability to manage multiple computer software applications required to provide Telehealth services - including but not limited to: EMR, E-Prescription management, E-Chats, E-Faxing, insurance verification, and video conferencing applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with behavioral and/or developmental medical conditions
  • Strong physical assessment, organizational, decision-making, and independent critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability in a broad range of areas to address all of the potential problems that might arise, i.e. scheduling conflicts, communication problems, technical problems, etc.
