The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a qualified professional to join our team. This is a grant-funded, full-time position. As a key team player, the qualified person will be primarily responsible for providing assessments of tenant needs, case monitoring, tenant advocacy functions, and related work as assigned.

Essential job duties include: Complete thorough housing barrier assessment and housing plan; assist in process of obtaining appropriate housing subsidy; assist in locating and securing permanent housing; act as liaison between consumers, landlords and case managers; actively outreach and recruit landlords; conduct initial and annual re-certifications (Housing Quality Standards-HQS) inspections; maintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge of community treatment and recovery support resources and self-help support groups' locations; prepare reports; attend staff meetings; maintain statistical information about ongoing activities; and complete regular documentation of efforts in an electronic health record as directed. Will include travel around metro Richmond area.

 
Position Requirements

Applicant must be competent and comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, as well as sensitive to, and possess an understanding of, behavioral health disorders. Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. At least two years’ experience in housing counseling and/or property management. One year's experience working with low-income and/or homeless adults with histories of behavioral health challenges. HQS inspection training required. Knowledge of homeless population, resources, and Fair Housing and Tenant-Landlord laws required. Certified Housing Counselor preferred. Valid Virginia driver’s license required.

Starting Salary Range $42,287.80
