Share Email Opening Apply Now Title IT System Administrator  Location Brooklyn, New York   Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Description The System Administrator will possess the following skills: Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions and resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or from a remote location. Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware, software, printing issues, installation, word-processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Understanding of network configurations, including routing and switching infrastructure in large enterprise environments. Backup & restore procedures using Backup Exec and/or Arc-serve. Experience of enterprise monitoring applications. Install and configure new hardware and software. In-depth understanding of L2 and L3 networking and network protocols (switches, routers, access points, firewalls). Maintain CORE network; scanners, POS, printers, switches, routers, serve.   Position Requirements The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field experience. 5 years’ work experience with Windows systems infrastructure, Linux infrastructure, database, email/collaboration, networking, security, and enterprise class applications. Candidate will also have a strong networking background (i.e. switches, routers, firewalls, wireless) and the ability to troubleshoot issues during installation and upgrades. Communication, documentation and organization skills are a must. Candidate must have the ability to travel by air or auto, the ability to work as part of a team and individually as well as flexibility to work varied hours including some nights or weekends. Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 60 pounds. Desired Certification: CCNA or CCNP Certification is a major plus MCSE/MCSA Please note candidate will be expected to travel between Brooklyn and New Jersey.
