Summary:  The Resource Trainer focuses on delivering job specific training and acts as a resource to River Valley employees by providing identification/assessment, development and implementation of training initiatives that increase the level of quality customer service and knowledge within River Valley employees. This will be accomplished by a combination of classroom as well as on-site facilitation and/or guidance. Specific areas of focus will be designated based on assigned roles.  May assist as needed with additional areas as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide subject matter expertise for development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to meet identified River Valley employee development needs.
  • Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
  • Responsible for knowledge of and communication to identified groups regarding new product, procedures and information required to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Select or develop electronic and/or paper teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, tutorials and reference works.
  • Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training and report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
  • Monitor methods used by employees related to their job duties and make on the spot corrections.
  • Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their position.
  • Make suggestions on improving work procedures when working with assigned area.
  • Develop strong relationship with all departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.
  • Provide position (e.g.: expectations/functions, bank and functional systems such as e-mail, phone), product sales and customer service training as required to assigned positions.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, employees and departments to provide needs assessments, structure development plans and ongoing follow through.
  • Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
  • Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
  • Provides coaching and/or mentoring regarding policy and procedures for assigned positions.
  • Provides program and course facilitation for development sessions as needed.

Other Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Bank and the Department to function effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
