General Accountability

 

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Allegacy Federal Credit Union in living out its mission, “to help you make smart financial choices” and support the expected behaviors of the Synergy culture.  To achieve this goal the employee must provide outstanding service to both internal and external members. In addition, this position will assist in daily operations of the Payment Systems – Card Services Department and is responsible for ensuring that essential card related tasks are performed on a daily basis through the member service queue and maintain value of our card products.

 

Nature and Scope

 

The employee will provide staff support related to card processes and products serving as an expert in one of the following areas:  Check and ATM Card servicing, consumer and commercial Credit Card servicing.  The employee will participate in team activities and should serve on committees as needed. The incumbent must participate in and fully support Allegacy’s Sales and Service Culture while protecting the credit union’s assets.  The employee works with other members of the Payment Systems department and reports to the Card Services Supervisor.

  • Meet or exceed established service goals.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all card related inquiries for check, ATM and consumer and commercial credit cards.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of organization processes and structure in order to identify resources needed to resolve card related problems or gather information to assist others.
  • Perform general tasks with a high degree of accuracy including, but not limited to:
    • Card orders
    • Card maintenance and replacement
    • Temporary Credit Limit increases
    • Travel Notification on card processing systems
    • File fraud claims and ATM disputes
    • Post provisional credits and within VISA regulations
    • Process posting exceptions
  • Process all returned cards for updated addresses and notate accounts accordingly; Maintain and update Returned Card spreadsheet to assist front line staff
  • Work closely with other Card Services personnel to ensure that tasks are completed effectively and efficiently maintaining set SLAs
  • The ability to review and verify wires for accuracy
  • Process internal transfers which include debit banks , lines of credit and installment loans
  • Proactively identify opportunities and drive synergistic behavior toward resolution
  • Assist with CAMS alerts to proactively minimize member and credit union exposure
  • Cross train to ensure that other duties in the Card Services Department are completed accurately and timely.
  • Access daily reports to monitor card related data
  • Conduct research for department projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to balance/research end of day teller transactions
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent phone communication skills
  • Willingness to adjust schedule to ensure that all team tasks are completed within SLA’s

 

Education and Experience

  • Three to five years of card services and operations experience.
  • Specific training and knowledge of VISA Regulations
  • Financial experience required, Credit Union experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products; Word and Excel with the ability to manage and/or create spreadsheets.
