Training Coordinator - Case Management - Adult

Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Training Coordinator to join our team! The Training Coordinator will be responsible for the training of all Wyandot Center and Kim Wilson Housing positions. Coordinates ongoing training and education and assists with quality management, program development and implementation of services.

Accountabilities:

  • Provides hands-on initial and on-going training on the policies, procedures and the electronic medical records system to all Wyandot Center and Kim Wilson Housing staff including licensed and non-licensed staff, directors, management team, clinical, direct support, and office staff.
  • Delivers departmental employee orientation for new staff as required.
  • Coordinates and maintains onboard training schedules for all new employees.
  • Provides feedback on progress of electronic medical record users’ competencies to management staff and collaborates to implement training to address areas of need
  • Works collaboratively with Wyandot Center and KWH management teams and Human Resources to identify and assess staffing needs as well as working to improve onboarding and ongoing training processes.
  • Creates, submits, and manages IT tickets to obtain new staff system access levels, logins, desk/computer/phone set up, keys and coordinating the departmental training schedule.
  • Develops, maintains, and presents training information using a variety of instructional techniques such as written exercises, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, video, product demonstrations, and Power Point presentations.
  • Ensures Wyandot Center and Kim Wilson Housing staff member’s complete required State, Medicaid, and agency trainings and tracks status.
  • Coordinates with other training staff to ensure Relias profiles are up to date and accurate for all Wyandot Center and KWH staff.
  • Coordinates regular and ongoing education opportunities for all Wyandot Center and KWH staff.
  • Willingness to complete train the trainer for DLA-20 training and other trainings as assigned
  • Represents Wyandot Center on internal and external committees and special projects as requested.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in the human services field, with emphasis preferably in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or related field or equivalent amount of experience.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience working in a community mental health services environment required. Previous experience training others on systems, policies and procedures required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Comfortable and able to train others individually or in small, medium, or large sized group settings.
  • Familiar with treatment approaches (including Evidenced Based Practices) and needs of adults with SPMI.
  • Familiar with key concepts of Recovery.
  • Familiarity with mental health theory, emerging promising practices, and Evidence-Based Practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills. Includes ability to adapt style of communication.
  • Proficient in use of technology, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with Center staff and community agencies.
  • Complies and upholds with all relevant Center policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide direction for programming and planning purposes.
  • Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
  • Clearance through the Kansas Child Abuse/Neglect Register and criminal background check.

Location/Travel/Work Conditions and Considerations:

  • This position will be based at the 47th Street location.
  • Work at other Center locations or at various community sites may be required to meet the business needs of the mental health center.
  • Must provide proof of current Driver’s License (non-suspended & non-expired)
  • Must provide and maintain dependable transportation, comprehensive automobile insurance coverage, and clean driving record. Must be willing to submit to a vehicle inspection or provide proof of inspection within last year.
