Description

Location:

San Diego, California. Candidate must currently reside in the San Diego County region or must be willing to relocate within sixty days of hire.

 

General Summary:

Seeking a high-energy, detail oriented, safety focused Program Coordinator to be part of an established professional services team providing program management services to investor-owned gas and electric utilities. We provide clients with comprehensive program management of complex system deployments in electrical transmission and distribution substations and circuits. The Program Coordinator will be embedded with client’s construction and operations team providing direct support to field team leads, managers and engineers and will be responsible for administrative and operational project assignments involving detailed planning and tracking of construction and system maintenance schedules, procurement, action items, meeting minutes, file management, and process improvement tasks.

Position is primarily office based with occasional field activities, including on-site meetings in high voltage electrical substations, distribution circuits, test facilities and corporate campuses.

 

Supervision Level:

  • Reports to Sr. Program Manager, Project Manager II, or Team Lead.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform extensive analysis of project data, prepare project progress reports.
  • Support detailed and critical new construction and maintenance workflows.
  • Monitor job progress, provide administrative support for project execution.
  • Develop, distribute, and manage job schedules using cascade software, document repositories and job packages.
  • Coordinate site access, traffic control permits and governmental resources.
  • Support procurement of materials, ensure proper receipt/inventory.
  • Review, code and submit for approval monthly vendor invoices.
  • Maintain frequent communication with teams to gather deliverable status, action items and risks.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings, create and distribute minutes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of utility construction and maintenance projects.

  • Previous scheduling and logistics experience working in a regulated utility or similar field preferred.

  • Knowledge of safe working practices, codes and regulations.

  • Expert knowledge of MS Office suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and OneNote.

  • Experience in project planning using cascade or similar software.

  • Established track record with proven ability to work within a fast-paced corporate environment.

  • A minimum of two years of experience with Cascade, MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent project scheduling tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the business, including engineering, construction, and management.

 

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or similar field acceptable with client approval

  • In lieu of Bachelor’s degree at least four years of demonstrated program coordination experience providing project administration support
