Description

Adventure Summary

The purpose of the position is to provide quality service to Brownells customers by professionally and accurately processing customer orders, and to ensure that customer questions are answered correctly, courteously, and in a timely manner.

What You Will Do

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists customers with questions related to pricing, quantity on hand, delivery dates, product substitution
  • Participates in product campaigns by offering customer special values when announced
  • Works with Gun Technicians, Customer Support Reps, Compliance and Finance to resolve customer problems
  • Responsible for ensuring customer orders are accurately entered into the order entry system
  • Enters new customer information into the database
  • Follows up on previous calls and/or faxed orders

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works in other departments based on business needs
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned
  • Willing to cross train to other departments
  • Responds to fax, email, chat and mail correspondence as assigned
  • Backs up Company Switch Board Operator position
  • Order shipping labels for customers

What You Will Need

Education and Experience

  • High school education or equivalent with special emphasis in English grammar
  • Experience working with the public
  • ACD or phone experience
  • General office experience a plus
  • Familiarity with the Internet
  • Basic understanding of Brownells products
  • Proficiency with using the Brownells catalog, website and other available resources to assist customers with their questions

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, especially telephone skills
  • Accurate keyboarding and ten-key skills
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of customers to ensure that they are satisfied with Brownells service
  • Enjoy working with people in an inbound sales environment
  • Proficiency with using the Brownells catalog, website and other available resources to assist customers with their questions
  • Understanding of Brownells Customized operations software
  • Typing skills and computer knowledge

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
