Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions and Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for managing a rigorous and equitable testing and enrollment process. This includes developing and maintaining systems to track testing and graduate school enrollment for the incoming cohort, providing the information and resources necessary for incoming residents to pass required entrance exams, and ensuring that incoming participants meet the admissions requirements for Urban Teachers’ graduate school partner. You will also be responsible for working with partners from our different regions to support incoming residents who are admitted into our program, and will participate in the Urban Teachers resident selection process.

Location:

  • Due to the impact of COVID-19, our regional offices are closed and staff members will work virtually (remote) until further notice. Otherwise, location is flexible for the right candidate, though a strong preference will be given to candidates in Baltimore, Washington DC, Dallas, or Philadelphia.

Travel and Work Hours:

  • This position will involve some travel (roughly once per quarter), however due to the impact of Covid-19, our regional offices are closed and staff will not travel until the organization deems it safe to do so.
  • This role requires flexibility outside of traditional working hours, including some night and weekend interviews.

Your Buckets of Responsibility:

Enrollment and Cultivation

  • Develop communication plan to proactively communicate and engage with incoming residents to provide testing and enrollment requirements and ensure they have submitted all required documentation
  • Manage pre-professional entrance exam (Praxis/PACT) materials including testing reimbursements, online resources, test preparation materials, and practice exams
  • Identify testing requirements needed for all incoming residents and determine testing plans based on those requirements
  • Develop and execute systems to track all accepted participants through the testing and enrollment process
  • Provide resident materials and updates to our graduate school partner to ensure all residents are accepted and enrolled into their program
  • Partner with regional team members to cultivate candidates who are admitted into our program
  • Build system to collect final transcripts from admitted applicants to deliver to each site for certification requirements

Data Management and Analysis

  • Manage testing and enrollment data in Salesforce, ensuring it is clean and accurate
  • Execute and improve testing and enrollment strategy through data
  • Manage and track testing expenditures for budget

Admissions

  • Assist in reviewing applications for prospective candidates
  • Complete candidate interviews as part of the selection process
  • Update and maintain testing and enrollment information on all Admissions platforms
  • Help manage the applicant facing inbox and other applicant communication channels

Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with customer service or candidate communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Results orientated and motivated by clear goals
  • High degree of attention to detail and operational excellence
  • Ability to keep track of a significant amount of data and information across multiple systems
  • Self-directed and self-starter who is comfortable operating in grey space and maintains a high degree of personal responsibility
  • Ability to work remotely and as a part of a remote team and manage close working relationships with regional site teams
  • Willingness and ability to attend selection events in the evenings and on the weekends
  • Experience working with Salesforce and Box document storage platform preferred
