SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the development, support, and ongoing enhancement of applications and technologies that improves business decision making by the North American Sales team.  This assessment and analysis must be conducted proactively, as well as, by specific Sales request, therefore a great deal of communication between IT/IS and Sales in addition to a strong understanding of industry best practices is a requisite.  This position requires a future focus and must therefore develop scalability and modularity into designs, within an approved IT environment, allowing solutions to adapt to the changing needs of the organization over time.  Additionally, this position is either a lead or a key contributor to various special projects both organizationally and sales specific (e.g. S&OP, demand planning, supply chain, assisting with the Space Management integration, etc.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops information and communication architecture that will allow the Sales Analysts as well the Account Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents to perform their responsibilities more efficiently
  • Gains a thorough understanding of the data sources employed throughout the Organization
  • Develops and maintains data extraction, transformation, and validation routines ensuring the timely and accurate processing of data into a database
  • Stores, organizes and manages corporate Point of Sale (POS) data within a database in a manner which allows for efficient analysis.  Industry benchmarking and research of new tools and processes available
  • Collaborates with IT to help design custom applications utilizing the .NET framework
  • Designs and implements standard reporting, dashboards, scorecards, OLAP cubes, data mining algorithms, ad-hoc query, and geospatial capabilities
  • Develops a close  working relationship with the IS/IT team to work within the corporate structure
  • Drives the integration, education and implementation of new tools
  • Educates partners, either using, or impacted by, any of the above mentioned new tool’s execution
  • Optimization of data flow from source to all end users throughout the organization
  • Creatively determines effective/affordable solutions
  • Ability to standardize and streamline solutions to similar opportunities throughout the Sales Dept
  • Leads and drives key special projects
  • Full understanding of the Business/POS-Demand Analyst’s responsibilities
  • Backup the Business/POS-Demand Analysts when necessary
  • Documentation of all processes and applications developed using approved documentation standards
  • Responsible for writing and executing test plans and scripts for software or hardware deployments and upgrades
  • Troubleshoots and debug problems within applications as they arise with minimal down time
  • Implements security measures to safeguard corporate assets
  • Creatives use of standard tools within the current IT/IS structure
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IS or Operations field.
  • 3-5 years of overall experience with 1-3 yrs in the field or related area
  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite including form development and VBA programming.
  • Expertise in relational and multidimensional database modeling.
  • Experienced with Oracle Database 11g a plus and knowledge of Toad for Oracle a plus.
  • Experienced  with web applications with MS Visual Studio utilizing ASP.NET, VB.NET, CSS, Java Script, and XMLa plus.
  • Ability to assess and map current process (as is) and conceptualize/map the improvement (to be).
  • Ability to develop and implement conceptual improvements.
  • Familiarity with SAP enterprise application software.
  • Knowledge with JDA Space Planning preferred.
  • Strong people and team working skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer service (both internal and external)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
