APM Manager/Item Master Project Manager

Summary of Position:

This position requires strong strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, as well as daily interaction with all departments to coordinate and manage incoming item data for specified categories. The Manager will actively lead the evaluation of item requirements in order to recommend,  assign,  and then engage company resources.  The Manager will develop and manage timelines based on specific project needs and continuously track and communicate project status.  The Manager is responsible for gathering the necessary item information, creating Bills of Material, and setting up all necessary fields and views that will be used to setup items in SAP.  The Manager will be responsible for all item and change management and will be expected to maintain a strong working knowledge of responsible product categories and affected customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for insuring initial and ongoing quality and accuracy of project information as received from internal customers.  Proactively solicits and verifies required information for evaluation of data accuracy
  • Develops timelines based on specific project requirements.  Assigns and engages appropriate company resources.  Manages task dates and follows up on critical time sensitive tasks within timelines from an internal project management system
  • Coordinates with internal departments to set priorities, tasks, and completion dates for projects for item setup in SAP, while giving enough time for the company to execute toward the customer ship date
    Prepares and analyzes data for audit reporting using SAP and Excel
  • Continuously tracks and communicates project status and modifies timelines daily
  • Understands the requirements of the internal users in order to have the most information available within a project
  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing item setup data from departments
  • Flexibility in managing the constantly changing priorities and expedited timelines
  • Ability to setup all items in SAP with the understanding of fields and how they inter-relate and affect transactions
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key departments.  Maintains working knowledge of product categories and customers in order to quickly assess project requirements
  • Maintains an open and enthusiastic communication style with internal customers in order to facilitate a strong perception of customer focus and responsiveness  
  • Manages daily priorities for APM Analyst with regard to responsible categories
Position Requirements
  • 3 + years' experience in consumer products industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain environment field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • ERP Systems and Excel experience required, SAP knowledge a plus
  • Detail-orientated with strong analytical and decision making ability
  • High energy, motivated individual, with strong interpersonal skills, while being assertive in a team environment
  • Excellent project management skills required, prior project management experience a plus
