The Project Manager assists in the day-to-day management of specific research initiatives related to the study of cancer. This position may include management of teams in method development, validation, and standardization of various biomarkers and clinical trial research. Work is conducted under the supervision of the Director-Cancer and more senior Project Managers at the FNIH offices located in North Bethesda, Maryland. This is a non-research, administrative management position requiring excellent interpersonal and writing skills, a high level of organization, diplomacy, focus, ability to work under tight deadlines, and familiarity with biomedical research environments.   Position Requirements 3 years of work experience as a scientific/technical project manager Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, specific focus on capturing meeting minutes and summary. Management of scientific projects: Manage complex project logistics and budgets Develop and manage grants/contracts Manage relationships among scientific and administrative partners from diverse sectors of biomedical science (e.g. government, academia, and private partners industry and not-for-profit organizations) Facilitate cross-functional scientific project team meetings and drive stakeholder consensus Organize and lead teleconference and face-to-face meetings Review scientific progress reports and understand project implications Ability to work/prioritize effectively on multiple projects/activities simultaneously Strong analytical, critical thinking and team facilitation skills to collaborate with key stakeholders High degree of flexibility while adapting to the organization’s priorities Advanced competence in use of Microsoft Office suites (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Knowledge of NIH culture, systems, and organization is a plus Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and/or FDA is a plus Experience in managing early drug development projects (e.g. assay development, target identification, validation, biomarker development) is a plus Familiarity with clinical trial management is a plus Prior role in consulting or client-based environment is a plus Ideal candidates will be able to show: A BSc or higher-level degree in scientific/technical field and 3+ years of relevant project management experience in applying and communicating project management principles and processes (Project Management Certification or consulting experience is a plus) A Master’s degree (or higher) in scientific/technical field/business and 3+ years work experience in biotech, pharmaceutical or health related organization   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Location FNIH (Hybrid)   This position is currently not accepting applications.
