Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required or AA degree with 2 to 3 years of related work experience.
  • Two years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least one year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.

Job Title: Financial Analyst Department: Finance

Reports to: Financial Planning and Analysis Director Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Job Summary:

Serves as part of the Finance team and is responsible for providing data and analysis on business issues, planning, budgeting and forecasting across the company for management’s use in decision making. The Financial Analyst will analyze past financial and operational performance metrics to help predict future results and to advise the company on its financial strategy. The role reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and coordinates financial planning under the Director to assist in building strong relationships and ensuring procedures are compliant.

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions
  • Analyze performance, identify areas of risk and opportunity, and make recommendations to finance and business leadership for improvements.
  • Support the financial planning process at the department level, inclusive of budgets, re-forecasts, capital planning and long term plans. Helps to define and load data into models.
  • Provide data and analyses to support periodic (monthly, quarterly, year-end) financial and operational performance reviews with the business and finance teams, and the Board of Directors meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly cash forecast that includes 13-week projections of cash receipts, disbursements, debt, and borrowing base levels (receivables and inventory).
  • Gather data to track and review performance of strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough research of historical financial data.
  • Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.
  • Reviews accounting transactions for accuracy.
  • Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
  • Forecast quarterly and annual profits
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of financial databases
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
