Job Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that the work performed at FeraDyne Outdoors is done in a safe manner. This position reviews, evaluates and analyzes work environments, processes and procedures to control, eliminate and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan and implement OSHA policies and programs.
Direct entity's safety programs to protect employees against harm and maintain safe working conditions. Plan, establish, implement, and maintain variety of occupational health, safety standards, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.
Coordinate, schedule, direct and provide documentation for regular safety committee meetings.
Prepare and present safety training.
Support the safety and compliance departments initiatives across all of FeraDyne's locations.
Perform safety orientation for new employees.
Oversee implementation of occupational health, safety and environmental orientation standards and ongoing education.
Conduct risk assessments and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Prepare reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendation for control and correction of hazards. Collaborate with division managers and engineers to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions.
Effectively communicate with and maintain positive/professional relationships with other managers and departments within FeraDyne.
Correspond with and maintain professional relations with vendors, suppliers, and other service providers
Guide FeraDyne toward compliance with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. city, state, and federal compliance regulations.
Periodically review existing policies and procedures to be sure they remain compliant and accurate.
Trach and record OSHA injury logs and Workers' comp insurance claims. Ensure timely processing of workers' compensation claims; assist the injured and report injuries for workmen's compensation insurance. Evaluate accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate information is identified. Make recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
Recommend and manage the purchase of safety equipment and supplies.
Educations and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
At least two years' experience in a manufacturing, industrial or other safety driven environment setting combined with minimum of a two year degree in safety engineering, industrial hygiene or technology, environmental sciences or associated studies or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and training in the following: occupational health, safety and environmental compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental training.
Ability to develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive health and safety accident prevention programs.
Excellent chemical/mechanical/electrical aptitude and understanding
Above average computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, internet correspondence and research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of archery industry.
Knowledge of production processing and organization.
Knowledge of machinery and design.
